Geographical location

Climate in St. Vincent and the Grenadines
The archipelago is located on the 13th parallel north. As in the whole area, it is tropical on this archipelago because the island state is located in the tropics. The island of St. Vincent also has the highest point of the archipelago, the Soufriere volcano (1,234 meters above sea level) and therefore there is significantly more rainfall there than is the case on the lower islands in the neighborhood. The island state is influenced by the northeast trade winds.

When is the best time to visit St. Vincent & the Grenadines?
The dry season in January, February, March, April and into May is considered the best travel time for this archipelago of St. Vincent & the Grenadines. During this period the most consistent and pleasant weather prevails on the islands. However, the overnight prices are very high, especially in January and April.
Of course, the wetter months of the rainy season between June and November are cheaper. December is still quite humid, but prices then pick up again noticeably due to the vacation times and holidays. The best price-performance ratio usually awaits you in the second half of May.

Sights & attractions
On the island of St. Vincent there is no coastal road that completely circles the island. That is why there are routes on the west and Atlantic coasts. In the area of the west coast are the Vermont Nature Trails with an altitude of 300 to about 600 meters. These are easily accessible paths. The king amazon, the landmark of the archipelago, also lives in this area. You can also see black sandy beaches and heavily overgrown valleys. Also in this area is the town of Barrouallie, which is located in a sheltered bay. This is where the French landed on the island of St. Vincent in 1719.
A few years ago, the film “Pirates of the Caribbean” was shot about 3 kilometers away. Inland, the Trinity Falls and the Dark View Falls are worth seeing. The ascent to La Soufriere volcano, which was last active in 1979, begins in the west of Richmond. If you want to enjoy the white sand beaches of the archipelago, Prime Beach Areas near the capital Kingstown is the place to be. Here you are on the Atlantic coast. From there you can continue on the Windward Highway past banana and coconut plantations.
A little off the highway you will find the Mesopotamia Valley, where cocoa and bread fruits, bananas and nutmegs are grown. Georgetown is the slightly larger town on the Atlantic coast. One of the most important architectural landmarks on the island is Fort Charlotte, which was built in the 18th century for protection purposes. The fort is not too far from the capital and sits on a ridge. This gives you an impressive view of the region from there.
