Djerba has a very mild and Mediterranean climate. The actually typical desert climate in this region is moderated somewhat by the influence of the Mediterranean. The summers are nevertheless very hot, the winters are mild with daytime temperatures between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius. From December to February it is coldest (9 to 11 degrees at night), and most of the rain falls in October.
In principle, however, you can expect very little rainfall on Djerba all year round, especially in summer there is almost no rain at all. The months of June, July and August are particularly low in precipitation. After the winter months descend April the temperatures rise quickly and noticeably and in the middle of the month are already around 24 ° C.

When to go to Djerba?
Djerba is a popular destination for beach holidays, so when determining the best travel time, we particularly consider the water and air temperatures as well as the duration of sunshine. In principle, the Tunisian island can be visited all year round, but the tourist season and charter flights usually only start in May and usually end in October.
The high temperatures of up to 32 degrees in the shade and the rain-free summer weather are not only popular with foreign tourists, many Tunisians also use the weekends for short trips. We recommend the months of June, July, August and September as the best time to travel to Djerba, even if the high season falls during this period with correspondingly higher prices.
The early summer month of May and the autumn months of October to mid- November are also ideal for a trip to Djerba. During this time bathing is possible without any problems, the temperatures are a bit more pleasant and the beaches are much emptier. Most of the hotels close from the end of November to the end of April at the latest, and at 15 to 18 degrees in the water, bathing fun in the Mediterranean Sea would also be neglected.
