According to wholevehicles, Uganda is a landlocked country located in the East African region, bordered by Kenya, Sudan, Tanzania, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. It has a total area of 241,038 km2 and a population of around 44 million people. The country has a tropical climate with two distinct seasons; the dry season from December to February and the wet season from March to November. The highest point in Uganda is Mount Margherita which stands at 5109 meters above sea level. Higher education in Uganda is offered by both public and private universities. There are currently seven universities offering courses in various disciplines from undergraduate to doctoral levels. The oldest university in Uganda is Makerere University which was established in 1922 as a technical school and later upgraded to a university college in 1949 before becoming an independent university in 1970. Other public universities include Kyambogo University; Gulu University; Mbarara University of Science and Technology; Busitema University among others. There are also several private universities such as Uganda Christian University (UCU); International Health Sciences University (IHSU); Kampala International University (KIU) among others which offer courses in various disciplines from undergraduate to postgraduate levels.
