According to wholevehicles, Tuvalu is an island nation located in the South Pacific Ocean, situated between Australia and Hawaii. It consists of nine islands and has a total area of 26 km2 and a population of around 11,000 people. The country has a tropical climate with two distinct seasons; the dry season from May to October, and the wet season from November to April. The highest point in Tuvalu is Mount Talava which stands at 5 meters above sea level. Higher education in Tuvalu is offered by both public and private universities. There are currently two universities offering courses in various disciplines from undergraduate to doctoral levels. The oldest university in Tuvalu is the Tuvalu Institute of Technology which was established in 1994. Other public universities include University of the South Pacific; National University of Samoa; University of Fiji among others. There are also several private universities such as Te Kakeega III O Te Au O Tonga Institute (TKIT); Pacific Adventist University (PAU); University of Guam (UOG) among others which offer courses in various disciplines from undergraduate to postgraduate levels.
