The oldest university in Turkey is Istanbul University which was established in 1453. There are also several private universities such as Koç University; Sabancı University; Bilgi Üniversitesi (BilgiU); Kadir Has Üniversitesi (KHU); Yeditepe Üniversitesi (YTÜ) among others which offer courses in various disciplines from undergraduate to postgraduate levels.
