The country’s climate is tropical and experiences monsoon rains during certain months of the year. There are also several polytechnics and institutes which offer vocational qualifications such as nursing or IT diplomas. Sri Lanka also has a large number of private higher education institutions which are often affiliated with foreign universities or accredited by international accreditation bodies such as ABET or AACSB.
