According to wholevehicles, Brunei is a small nation situated on the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia. It is bordered by Malaysia to the north and east and has a total land area of 5,765 square kilometers. The country is divided into four regions: Brunei-Muara, Tutong, Belait and Temburong. The capital city Bandar Seri Begawan is located in Brunei-Muara district. Geographically, Brunei is characterized by its mountainous interior and coastal lowlands. The highest peak in Brunei is Bukit Pagon which stands at 1,850 meters above sea level. The tropical rainforest covers much of the country’s interior with dense jungles providing habitat for many species of plants and animals including orangutans and proboscis monkeys. In addition to its forests, Brunei also has numerous rivers which flow through the country from its mountain ranges towards the South China Sea. In terms of education, Brunei has an extensive system with both public and private schools available throughout the country. Primary education begins at age 6 and lasts for 6 years while secondary school covers grades 7 through 12 lasting up to 5 years depending on whether a student opts for a vocational or academic track upon graduation. Higher education includes universities as well as technical colleges offering specialized degrees in areas such as medicine or engineering. The government provides free primary and secondary education to all citizens as well as free textbooks for students in primary school up until grade 9. In addition to this there are several scholarship programs available from both public institutions as well as private companies offering financial assistance to students who wish to pursue their studies abroad or within Brunei itself at one of its universities such as Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) or Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB). The government also places great emphasis on English language proficiency with English being taught from primary school onwards with additional classes offered during secondary school if necessary. This focus on English language proficiency has enabled many students who have graduated from tertiary institutions within Brunei or abroad to find employment either locally or internationally due to their ability to communicate effectively in English.
